We are pleased to open our successful electives program on an a la carte basis to homeschooling families not currently enrolled in Foundations First Christian.

Strike up the band! Choose a woodwind, brass, and/or a percussion instrument to study and play. Students need to purchase their own instrument or rent an instrument through Hunterdon Music in Flemington. Students will need to purchase a lesson book.
Create 52 different "mini artworks" with the playing card as your canvas using acrylic scraping, watercolors, oil pastels, magazine collage, Neurographic lines, canvases, paper folding, and yarn manipulation. All playing cards will be hole punched and held on a ring so the artwork can be removed, created, and stored. The goal is that by Week 8 each student has 52 creations that will show their growth & hopefully their designated style.
Students who take Survivor Club: Hunter’s Safety Course will have reviewed portions of the New Jersey State Hunter’s Safety Course. We will start with archery. Students will learn the basics of hunting with a compound bow or crossbow. *The students in this course will not handle any equipment or arrows.
Hypothetical Science and Tech do not exist yet, but in theory, they could in the future. These are the ideas that make Sci-Fi movies and ideas so exciting to think about. In this class we will discuss and evaluate these theories, watch movie clips, and listen to scientific discussions. Topics may include things like time travel, cloning dinosaurs, artificial intelligence, space travel, genetic mutations, etc.

Learn how to play ball! Taking this elective will give students the opportunity to learn while upping their games.
Students will rehearse a song set to lead our secondary chapels in weekly worship (Chapels held Tuesdays, 8:30-9:10 AM). Each song set will consist of two songs. Songs may rotate after 4 weeks. Students will also lead worship for the combined primary and secondary chapels on January 23 and February 20.
In this course, students will learn the practical skill of cooking while acquiring new Spanish vocabulary and cultural knowledge. This course will introduce students to the art of authentic Mexican cooking and culture.
Worshipful Lyrical dance instruction & performance in May.
Classes will include the basics of lyrical, learning choreography to contemporary Christian music to perform, and an opportunity to express creatively through dance. Students will need slippers or shoes appropriate for dance. Pink ballet slippers are recommended.

Create your own botanical art! Each week, this class will create a different type of flower with paper.
Do you ever think about creating a logo that is exclusive to you? Do you have an idea about starting a business? Are you a babysitter? Do you have a YouTube channel? Do you make something for fun that you think someone else would buy? These are all great things that could turn into a business and creating a logo is one of the first things you should begin with. In this class we will create, and discuss branding and marketing your logo. We will put your logo on everything!
Learn how to create fun, easy snacks with allergy friendly options for everyone. Each week, we will create a snack and discuss its history and nutrition information. The nutrition information will detail how the snack fits into our daily nutrition values.

In this class, you will learn how to make, create, and design all sorts of crafts. The crafts will consist of sewing, jewelry making, gluing, coloring, cutting, painting, and all sorts of crafty skills. Come ready to learn how to craft and make fun things!
Rather than producing a skit, students will play games to practice the skill of improv. It is a funny, creative way to create drama "on the spot!"

Ultimate frisbee is a sport that inspires players and fans alike because of its ability to develop and showcase the athleticism, skill, teamwork, and character of its participants. The arc of the disc in flight, the opportunity for each individual to contribute equally to their team’s success, and the trust given to each player to know and uphold the rules make ultimate a sport that is embraced for its fun and excitement on the field and for the community beyond it

Learn the use of herbs for everyday living and holistic care. This class will have the opportunity to forage and taste different herbs and tinctures.
The Wells Fargo wagon is coming to FFC! Students will research and sketch set pieces for the spring musical, The Music Man JR.
Students who take Backpacking 101 will learn the basics of backpacking: basic needs like food, water, shelter, and personal gear, planning and cooking meals, using a map and planning an itinerary, gear required, etc.

Students who take Careers will be introduced to a new career by one of our Learning Community Parents each week. Each week a parent will come in and talk about a current or past career path that God has led them to explore.
Engage children with learning through play! Connect and play with our primary students using fun games, sensory bins, puzzles, and more. We will create teams and rotate between classes: Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade.

Continue exploring the winter landscape. Learn about North American non migratory birds, winter trees, and the process of making maple syrup. This class will go outside. Please wear and/or bring appropriate footwear and cold-weather accessories.
Students will create four free verse poems and four poems modeled on published works.
